Special importance of Vedic Yagya and Homa in Maha Kumbh

Prayag is called the soul of India. Tirthraj Prayag is called the provider of Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. In Hindu culture, the concept of Moksha has been done to get freedom from the continuous cycle of birth and death i.e. by taking birth and dying again and again. According to beliefs, during Kumbh Kalpavas, by collecting yajna and homa, rituals, charity and pious deeds, a person gets salvation by getting free from the cycle of 84 lakh births, due to which the pain of birth and death ends.

According to Prayag Mahatmya, Prayagraj has been the best place of knowledge and devotion since time immemorial. At the Triveni in Prayag, not only is there a confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati, but there is also a wonderful confluence of many sects, cultures and knowledge, detachment and devotion.

Yajna and homa have special importance in the scriptures. According to the scriptures, the place where Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet becomes equal to Brahma Lok and Vishnu Lok. According to Maharishi Ved Vyas, by performing yajna in Tirthraj Prayag or participating in yajna etc. activities. All the sins of a man are converted into virtues, such is the amazing glory of Tirthraj Prayag. Tirthraj Prayag is such a holy place, whose glory is described in most of the religious texts. Out of all the pilgrimages on this earth up to the sea, the glory of the best Tirtharaj Prayagraj is described in abundance in Vedas, various scriptures, religious texts, Puranas and later literature. It is said to be the provider of the virtuous fruits of all the pilgrimages and the means of attainment of the fourfold goals of Dharma-Artha-Kama-Moksha. It is described in the religious texts that a person becomes free from sins by visiting Prayagraj, by pronouncing the name of Tirtharaj or by merely touching its soil (sand of Sangam) on the body.
